Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and often stylized with uppercase letters like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 and received great reviews from both music bloggers as well as from the media. Half the World Away - by Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole have already been two of the most notable covers the singer has created. Katy Perry's support for the song Runaway on her blog added to the musician's appreciation. Make it a special day. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano that was in her basement and bewildered by the sound it created. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music more as a hobby as a career. To achieve this she started writing her own new compositions. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favourite writers. After her mother said that the songs she composed could be used to not gain fame for her however, but to encourage people to realize the value of themselves and their impact to the world, she started singing them in public. When she was six She began playing the piano. At age nine, she, started writing songs. Family members didn't even be aware of this until she turned 14. Aurora had no idea of being a famous singer. She just loves to write songs. She claims that music is her most preferred way to feel anything.
